Who we are
ChristWalkers’ is a Fresh Expression to Community. We seek to live a Christ-centered ethic of compassion, community, and vulnerability. We are about meeting people where we are, without judgment, without heavy-handed opinions - yet also, relying on biblical wisdom, insight, guidance and direction.
A Fresh Expression is a twenty-year-old movement out of the Church of England where communities are formed around common interests. Fresh Expressions do not necessarily seek to draw people inside the walls of traditional church, but become the Church to people.
ChristWalkers' is a connectional community of the United Methodist Church seeking to break down all barriers. Because of our family and community focus and our desire to partner with all churches of any denomination, we do not have a gathering, worshiping congregation (i.e., "church"). Instead, we celebrate in one an-others homes and community as well as we are able to partner with any church in the greater York and Lancaster Counties area.
While grounded in the historic, Wesleyan, Christian faith, we seek to represent a multitude of Christian denominations; you'll never feel out of sorts. Thus, we seek to never force "our" religion on you; rather, we hope it becomes obvious that the Trinitarian God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) we follow has profoundly affected us and that everything in our lives flows from that relationship.
Whether a person is in a crisis of faith or of life or is celebrating joys and victories, we seek to bear with one another our souls, knowing that through Christ, we can receive the most capable versions of mercy and grace this side of heaven.
